GreenRoot is a cooperation between HyCC and the German gas company VNG AG for the development of large-scale green hydrogen production to help industries in Central Germany reduce their CO2-emissions.
Large potential
Central Germany is home to a large chemical industry and a large potential market for green hydrogen. Therefore, the companies will start with a study on the technical feasibility and potential of green hydrogen production to decarbonize industries in this region. The aim is to develop one or more electrolysis projects of industrial scale in the region in the next three to five years.
Combined expertise
HyCC builds on more than 100 years of experience of its parent company Nobian, which already produces green hydrogen and essential chemicals at its existing electrolysis facility in the region, in Bitterfeld. VNG brings extensive expertise in the production and distribution of green gases in the region.
